How much storage do you need?

The storage determines how many photos, videos and apps fit on your device. You can't change this later, so it's better to choose slightly more than too little.

• 128 GB Enough for everyday use: apps, chat and about 25,000 photos. If you film a lot, this will be tight.
• 256 GB The safest choice for most people: room for years of photos plus about 30 hours of 1080p video.
• 512 GB and 1 TB For those who shoot a lot in 4K, install games or never want to delete anything.

The numbers are an indication, calculated at 4 MB per photo and 3 GB per hour of 1080p video. The operating system also uses part of the storage itself, so the free space is always somewhat smaller than the number on the box.
